Young Mothers Forum Project Objectives

We Care Like Family

In Uganda, complications from unsafe abortion are a leading cause of maternal death, with adolescents being the most vulnerable. Our discussions with young mothers reveal a terrifying reality:

  • Fear of Stigma: Young women fear being judged by healthcare workers and community members.

  • Lack of Information: Myths and cultural silence prevent access to accurate reproductive health knowledge.

  • Poor Treatment: Those who seek Post-Abortion Care (PAC) often face hostility, leading others to resort to dangerous, life-threatening alternatives.

OUR IMPACT

By training these young mothers as advocates, we are not just saving lives we are building leaders. This project will:

  • Reduce the number of adolescents resorting to unsafe abortion.

  • Increase the number of young women seeking Post-Abortion Care.

  • Foster a community that supports, rather than shames, pregnant adolescents and young mothers.
